Yesterday, Nintendo revealed that the Nintendo NX would be revealed today. However, in a surprising name change, the once NX is now called Nintendo Switch which will be released in March 2017. A trailer has been released which you can view below:
As you can see, the console will both be a powerful machine to be played on your TV as well as a handheld portable system. The console is able to be “switched” at any time by removing the screen portion from the TV dock and attaching the edges of the controller (called Joy-Cons) that act as individual controllers to play. The console will also uses cartridges similar to the Nintendo 3DS.
No set price has been confirmed but some additional information has been released. Nintendo has provided a list of active publishers and developers that will be supporting the new console, and they are huge ones such as Bethesda, Activision, and Havok.
The trailer showed off demos of the upcoming release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild, Skyrim Remastered, and an untitled Mario game. A full list of details and game line-up is expected soon.
