Martial Arts Madness unleashes fury with Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky

Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky is a 1991 Hong Kong martial arts film based on the Japanese Manga Riki-Oh by Masahiko Takajo and Saruwatari Tetsuya. Fan Siu-wong plays Ricky-Ho, a young martial artist who is sent to prison for killing a crime boss who was responsible for his girlfriend’s death.

The prison is filled with many sadistic violent inmates and Ricky must fight to stay alive and figure out a way to escape. The film is known for its over the top violence and gore. Thanks to his martial arts training Ricky has super strength and an extremely high threshold for pain which works to his advantage throughout the film. One famous scene features Ricky throwing the warden into a meat grinder, there was so much fake blood in this scene it took three days for the actors to wash it off their skin.

If you enjoy over the top violence and gore then definitely give this movie a watch just be warned it’s not for those with weak stomachs.
