25 Movies to Look Forward to in 2018

Be sure to have your Movie Pass ready.

As we did last year with our 25 Movies to Look Forward to in 2017, we are keeping the tradition with bringing you 25 more movies to get pumped about this year. With 2017 leaving us all in such astonishment with success from Wonder WomanPlanet of the ApesThor: Ragnarok, and more, 2018 has even more to offer.

Truth is, there are even more movies that are exciting to wait for that is not on this list, but here are our Top 25 for you to enjoy:

Black Panther (February 16, 2018)

What a great way to start off 2018 by bringing in one of the most iconic (and sometimes not recognized) heroes to screen. After his major success in Civil War, from the look of these trailers we are definitely in store for an action-packed Marvel film that is unlike anything we’ve seen before.

Strangers: Prey at Night (March 9, 2018)

Well it took 10 years for The Strangers to finally release a sequel that was highly anticipated, but it looks like now we have an official release and trailer. To be honest, it looks great and very excited to watch, but will it hold up to the first one? Time will tell.

Tomb Raider (March 16, 2018)

Based off the highly successful reboot in the game franchise, this looks like a solid video game adaption of our beloved Lara Croft. The trailer promises to show lots of action, fun, and exploration, so let’s hope it leaves us satisfied. But if we are being honest, we had no problem with Angelina Jolie playing Tomb Raider once before.

Pacific Rim: Uprising (March 23, 2018)

Once again, it seems that sequels are either really easy to make or really hard. This was another favorite movie of ours that took a lot longer to make a sequel than we’d like. With John Boyega leading the show in this next installment, we do hope it captures the fun and heart of the first one. Any chance we can get a Pacific Rim and Godzilla crossover?

Ready Player One (March 30, 2018)

Steven Spielberg is back to bring you another classic film with Ready Player One, based off a best selling book. With the combination of your underdog hero, virtual reality, and a wide array of pop culture Easter Eggs throughout the film, this one definitely looks great.

New Mutants (April 13, 2018)

Who would have thought we would ever have a horror superhero film? What an interesting concept. We believe that New Mutants is going to surprise a lot of people by not only expanding the boundaries of the superhero genre, but by delivering another solid entry to the X-Men franchise.

Rampage (April 20, 2018)

This one was unexpected, but welcomed with open arms. As a fan of the video game franchise, Rampage is bringing fan-favorite actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to save the city from total destruction by giant monsters.

Super Troopers 2 (April 20, 2018)

Enough can already be said by the title. It’s actually happening. Whether or not this film will succeed, we can at least be happy we get to see our Super Troopers again.

God Particle (Cloverfield 3) (April 20, 2018)

Though there isn’t any official trailer released yet, we do know that the currently titled God Particle is indeed the third installment to the Cloverfield franchise created by J.J. Abrams. Being a big fan of this monster movie, we hope it connects more dots to the mysterious creature that we saw in the first film. We’re expecting a trailer very soon.

Avengers: Infinity War (May 4, 2018)

Perhaps the biggest movie of the year (and of all time?), the last 10 years of the MCU has led to this moment. The battle begins for Earth and the rest of the universe as Thanos comes down personally to secure the Infinity Stones and hold all power. Needless to say, we are in for a huge film with every Marvel corner coming out for this one.

Slenderman (May 18, 2018)

Based off the internet phenomenon that actually stirred up real scares, stories, and even crime, the Slenderman movie has a lot to hold up to. Hopefully we are in store for a true horror film and not a lazy incarnation of this horrific creature.

Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25, 2018)

Star Wars is continuing it’s legacy and promise of one shot films with Solo, the film based off a young Han Solo and how he came to be. Though there was some director issues and reshoots required, we hope that this movie holds up to all the hype its created. When are we going to get that Obi-One spin off film?

Deadpool 2 (June 1, 2018)

Ryan Reynolds is back to bring the performance of his lifetime. Deadpool 2 is going to kick our asses all over the place including Josh Brolin as Cable. With the first film proving to be a major success, we are fully confident in the sequel. We just hope now since Disney bought the rights to Fox, that we will continue to get these movies in the future.

Ocean’s 8 (June 8, 2018)

This new female tag team-up based off the Ocean’s franchise is sure to be a lot of fun with its all star cast. The real question will be if the heist is fun and original, or rehashing old ideas.

The Incredibles 2 (June 15, 2018)

Another long anticipated sequel, but we are finally given a first look and release date for The Incredibles 2. This family fun film will surely bring lots of joy and laughs into our hearts as we see the superhero family deal with a new threat and powers.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (June 22, 2018)

Chris Pratt returns to the Jurassic World franchise, only this time much more drastic stakes are at play. It seems that every dinosaur on the island is getting loose with no home left behind for anyone. How this will carry on in the film and its future is yet to be seen.

Ant-Man and The Wasp (July 6, 2018)

Ant-Man proved to be a really fun and entertaining movie that left a lot of promise for its future. Now with a co-headlining title including The Wasp, it seems that Marvel is trying to take some new and unfamiliar roads for their next phase of films. One thing for sure, we are excited to see Evangeline Lilly suited up.

The Predator (August 3, 2018)

We are going to have our hands full with the new Predator movie. Shane Black promises to deliver an action-packed thrill with the new film in the series. We’re expecting a trailer in the near future.

Venom (October 5, 2018)

The messy situation between Sony and Marvel has left fans ultimately wondering if Venom will eventually show up in Spider-Man, or vice versa. Either way, we know that Tom Hardy is bringing some serious effort and determination to bring the best Venom we can get, and we can’t wait to see. Anything is better than that horrendous Topher Grace version.

Halloween (October 19, 2018)

Yes, Jamie Lee Curtis is back! We are (hopefully) about to get the true Halloween spirit and horror we’ve always missed this year with the new installment. We can’t wait to see Michael Myers back on the big screen.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix (November 2, 2018)

The prequel series of X-Men continues on with the Dark Phoenix story line. Previously teased in Apocalypse, we are now going to be fully into the wrath of Jean Grey’s character. Being set in the 90’s, one may think after this film that we may get something similar to the original X-Men movie back in 2000, afterwards.

Mulan (November 2, 2018)

Disney continues to power out live-action films of their beloved characters, with Mulan releasing this November. As a fan of the original animation, we are very excited to see this adaption come to life.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (November 16, 2018)

Harry Potter may not be around, but we are filling the void that we need for now. With the sequel lined up in place, will it still continue to deliver the entertainment we are looking for?

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse (December 14, 2018)

A change of direction with Spider-Man, as we enter the animated universe featuring Miles Morales instead of Peter Parker. However, with this trailer, we see that Peter actually does exist, along with many other Spider-Men. So who will we see in this new film? The animation style is pretty rad too.

Aquaman (December 21, 2018)

Finally, the last big movie of the year is set to be Aquaman by James Wan. Hopefully this year DC films gets their act together after the disappointment by Justice League. With a slated plate of over a dozen movies on the horizon, you have to wonder how many of those are actually going to be good. We have high hopes for this one.
