Unwrapped Sessions: Truth of The Matter

The second episode of our Unwrapped Sessions series featuring local Knoxville band, Truth of The Matter, performing a stripped down set at the SoKnox Studios.

Recently we had the pleasure of getting to know a young group of musicians who are on the rise in Knoxville after having a full year of producing original and cover material, booked at a number of venues and festivals, winning a Battle of The Band contest, and being featured on multiple radio and television spots in the community.

It’s been a great year for Truth of The Matter, who is made up of four members (Rhiane West, Jacob Fine, Matthew Smith, and Isaiah Sheadrick) who are ALL still in high school with loads of talent and support from friends, family, along with their producer Frank Sheadrick Jr., which gives them that extra push behind the. Originating from SoKnox Studios in Knoxville, TN, their style and influences ranges all over from Stevie Wonder to Jimi Hendrix to Muse.

We wanted to get to know the band and showcase their talents in our Unwrapped Sessions series, so we asked for them to play a three-piece set at their home based studio. The energy was great, the talent is strong, and the passion and fun was felt through every note that was played. Enjoy their three songs, “Relentless“, “Higher Ground (Stevie Wonder Cover)“, and “Over” below:

“Relentless”

“Higher Ground” (Stevie Wonder Cover)

“Over”
